My favorite author (well, one of them anyway).

One of my all time favorite authors is David Sedaris.  He's definitely in the top three.  I have all of his books, except for his holiday book, including his latest, Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk.  He's not for everyone and definitely not for the faint of heart.  You have to be able to deal with scabs, mice wearing clothes and skeletons, just to name a few.  Anyway, he's hilarious.  I highly recommend going to a live show.  You won't stop laughing.

Anyway, I was in a David Sedaris kinda mood tonight.  I went on Youtube and found this gem that appeals to my funny side and medical side.  I hope you enjoy it too!

Sometimes things just speak to you..

I ran across these lyrics tonight and for some reason they really speak to me:

If we keep this fooling around
We'll be the talk of the town
I'll tell the world I'm in love any time
Let's open up the blinds 'cause we really don't mind.

Ooh I don't care about the propriety
Let's break the rules and ignore society
Maybe our neighbors like to spy, it's true
So what if they watch when we do what we do.

-John Legend, P.D.A. (We just don't care)

Don't ask me why.  I'm not going through anything that would be relatable to them, but I can't stop repeating them in my head.

Some people call it a limp, I call it Swagger...

It's been a week since I've had my air cast off and I've had my ups and downs.  I definitely walk with what I call a swagger.  I favor my left side a lot.  Also, an issue I was having with my right foot before I broke the ankle has returned.  This is making it hard to decide if I'm recovering well with my ankle and it's the other issue causing me to limp or if it's an ankle problem.  I have a feeling I'll be ending up at the doctor's office in the next couple of weeks.

My life has basically returned to normal and I'm taking advantage of it.  I've had a little too much fun since it's come off.  I'm like a kid in the candy store.  I can walk!  Let me see how stupid I can be!

I have to admit, I do kind of miss priority seating on the Metro and the bus.  When I had the cast on, people would go out of their way to help me.  A lot of times someone would stand up so I could have their seat.  That was nice, but no more.  I think I can live with that.

Give me a few more days....

And I'll post what it feels like to be out of the cast.

For right now, enjoy "Whack a Kitty".

Whack a Kitty!

I now want a box of kittens just so I can do that.
